Learning to Recognize Answers to Prayer

"Communication with our Father in Heaven is not a trivial matter. It is a sacred privilege. It is based upon unchanging principles. When we receive help from our Father in Heaven, it is in response to faith, obedience, and the proper use of agency.

It is a mistake to assume that every prayer we offer will be answered immediately. Some prayers require considerable effort on our part. True, sometimes impressions come when we have not specifically sought them. They generally concern something we need to know and are not otherwise able to find out."

The Temple.

Absolutely Stunning.

Ponder Overload?

In October 2012, I decided to serve a mission for my church. I mean, I had given the service a great deal of thought before I left to college at BYU-I (Jan. 2012), but my decision solidified in October. I will serve for 18months either in the states or out of the country. My papers will be submitted the last week of February, if everything plays accordingly. Three weeks after submission, I should be knowing my location and when to head out!

Every day I ponder where I could be sent and what language I could be given. I would love to head out to the Philippines because I have never been there and that is where my mom's relatives derive from. Then again, I would love to explore Mexico more and not just the regular vacation sites. I mainly travel to Mexico to visit my farther's mother and to organize her wonderful family house. But, but, what if I go to France, or Thailand, or New York!? Oh geez. An out of the country or out of state experience, it is always a blessing and an adventure!

I am just so excited. The sooner I heal from my surgery recovery, the sooner I can finish my mission papers and submit them!

Gordon B. Hinckley

"How thankful we ought to be...how thankful we are, for a prophet to counsel us in words of divine wisdom as we walk our paths in these complex and difficult times. The solid assurance we carry in our hearts, the conviction that God will make his will known to his children through his recognized servant is the real basis of our faith and activity. We either have a prophet or we have nothing: and having a prophet, we have everything." -Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley

Blog Intro

Hello everyone. So this is my Inspirational Quote Book Blog. This Blog is specifically dedicated to ten topics (six of my choosing and four from my university teacher) that have been elaborated on by the Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This blog acts as a 'personal guide' to my life. I certainly have books of quotes that I have personally written down, even though I will only give ten quotes towards each topic. I will definitely fix this blog daily, so I apologize for the constant "construction". Enjoy (:
